Systema Martial Art is based upon four principles:

  1. Breathing – since holding your breath creates tension (or comes from it) we teach breathing techniques to help reduce tension.
  2. Posture – we always try to maintain our “square” so that we are do not lose balance.
  3. Constant Motion – continuing the motion of an attacker and something as simple as moving from the line of attack can save your life.
  4. Relaxation – learning to be comfortable with multiple situations helps to maintain relaxation and that in turn makes it easier for you to do your job.
